Biography
Dawn Of Mankind
Dawn Of Mankind, a 5-headed monstrosity from Eindhoven produces slaughtering 'in-your-face' metalcore written to get your blood boiling. Since they got together in 2004 they've been writing violent songs for your entertainment. This is their story.

2003. It all starts at the end of 2003, with two young lads called Rik and Stijn. While Rik already does a fine job, playing guitar in No Entry, Stijn is just a lazy fuck up with a bass-guitar. To fill up the always-boring Friday night, they decide to cover some of their oldschool heroes. A drummer is being found in Cas and so they're ready to start. That's the beginning and after a short time Wilrik is added to the line-up. With a second guitar player in the pocket they have a stable band and a good excuse to start drinking at about 5 pm on Friday. What else do you want more? Well, to start with, the group doesn't have a singer yet. Suddenly, Cas comes with an extremely ridiculous idea. His best pal could fill in the spot! His name is Nick and at that time he's a semi-professional stoner, wares funny clothes and has an even more idiotic haircut. But hey, he could try!

2004. Now covering songs is nice, but making your own songs really kicks ass. At first they try to take it the oldschool way, but it somehow doesn't work out the way they want it. Since the guys are mostly into metal or metalcore, it's more logic to take it to that level. The musical change really works and finally everything falls into place like a jigsaw puzzle. Up-tempo riffs and beatdowns are all part of their first songs and armed with a small set they manage to play some small gigs and contests at their hometowns. Highlights of the year 2004 are shows with Badger and Enemy Ground in December, which gloriously opens the door to 2005.

2005. This is a year with ups and downs. No real achievements were made during this year, except for the creation of some kick ass new songs. They try to record some promo thing but every rehearsal, live or living room session turns out to be total crap so they decide to just leave that part for the time being. There wasn't only misery though; some gigs were fucking awesome. Good examples of that are sick ass shows in the Flatertheek in Naaldwijk, Carnacore in the Aloys and the ABLive festival.

2006. The ball really starts rolling now. More and more shows are added to the list and the first plans for recording a demo are there. 2006 also contains a killer weekend in which DOM plays at the 'Into the pit' fest along with Born From Pain, Enemy Ground, In Blood We Trust and more great bands. Also the music has evolved during the past 2 years. Inspired by both mosh bands like Enemy Ground and metalcore bands like Deviate, Dawn Of Mankind is struggling to create their own sound. It's not easy in a time where everything already has been done. In September they enter the studio and record they first demo/MCD which is released on October the 29th.

And this takes us where we are now. It's the end of this story, although it certainly isn't the end of Dawn Of Mankind. Actually they're just getting started!
